NDIS supports, named the way your plan names them

Every support below shows the category it comes from in an NDIS plan, so you can match it to the plan in front of you. If a support you need isn't here, we'll tell you straight away and help you find who does it.

  • A man in a wheelchair and a woman cooking together in a bright kitchen

In your plan: Assistance with daily life

    Daily life at home

Assistance with daily life is help at home with the things that start and end your day: showering, dressing, breakfast, getting out the door on time. Our support workers come to you from our base in Wallsend, across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, and you set the pace.

  • A woman in a wheelchair wiping the mirror in her bathroom

In your plan: Assistance with daily life

    Household tasks

NDIS cleaning is help with the jobs around the house that your disability makes hard: the bathroom, the floors, the washing, the sheets. Our support workers do it with you or for you, in homes across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, from our base in Wallsend.

  • Two friends talking over coffee at a cafe table

In your plan: Assistance with social and community participation

    Out in the community

Community participation NDIS support is a support worker by your side when you head out: the shops, a cafe, the beach, your club or church. We go out from Wallsend across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, to the places you already like and the ones you have been meaning to try.

  • Adults of different ages shaping clay together at a pottery workshop

In your plan: Increased social and community participation

    Skills and groups

Increased social and community participation is capacity building support: time spent learning the skills to find activities, meet people and get around on your own. We run small groups and one-to-one sessions from Wallsend, for people across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.

A sample week for one person we support. Every shift is one they chose, with the same small team, and some days have nothing booked at all.

  3. A woman in a wheelchair wiping the mirror in her bathroom

What happens after you get in touch

Four steps, and nothing starts until you've said yes in writing. Most people have their first shift two to three weeks after the first phone call.

  1. You get in touch

Ring, email or fill in the short form. A family member, a support coordinator or you yourself: anyone can make the first contact.

We reply within 2 business days

  2. We meet you

A team leader comes to your home or a cafe near you for a free meet-and-greet. You meet a support worker or two and tell us what you want, in your own words.

    A free meet-and-greet, usually within a week

  3. We put it in writing

A written quote and a plain-language service agreement: which supports, which days, the prices under the NDIS Pricing Schedule, and how to change or end it. Nothing starts until you're happy with it.

Take as long as you need to read it

  4. Your first shift

The support worker you met turns up on the day and at the time you agreed. A team leader rings you after the first week to ask how it went.

First shift usually 2 to 3 weeks after you first get in touch

How we work with you

The NDIS is built on choice and control: you decide what support you get, who gives it and when. That's how we run every shift.

Four friends laughing together on a seaside boardwalk, one of them using a wheelchair

We're a team of about twenty support workers and two team leaders. Most of us live in the suburbs we work in, so the bus routes, the shopping centres and the quiet beaches are places we already know. Looking for a support worker near you? Tell us your suburb and we'll tell you honestly whether we can cover it.

You meet people first
A team leader brings one or two support workers to a meet-and-greet before anything is signed. You say who feels right.
The same small team
Two or three support workers who know your routine, not whoever is free that day. Ask for a change at any time, no reason needed.
Screened and trained
Every support worker holds a current NDIS Worker Screening Check, first aid and CPR.
Plain paperwork
A written quote and a short service agreement in plain English, with an Easy Read version if you'd like one. Our prices follow the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27 and never go above the price limits.
Honest about what we can't do
No overnight shifts, no supported independent living and no support coordination. If you need those, we'll say so and point you to providers who do.

What families and coordinators say

We met two of the support workers at the kitchen table before anything was signed, and Mum got to say who she felt comfortable with. It's been the same faces on Tuesdays and Fridays since.

Family member, Jesmond

Their capacity line was current, the referral form asked for what it needed and nothing more, and they came back to me in two days with a meet-and-greet booked. That's rarer than it should be.

Is Glenrock Support a registered NDIS provider?

Yes. We are registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, so we can work with you whether your plan is NDIA-managed, plan-managed or self-managed. Our registration number is at the top of every page. You can check any provider's registration yourself on the Commission's Provider Register.

Which areas of Newcastle do your support workers cover?

Our support workers travel from Wallsend across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie: suburbs like Jesmond, Lambton, Kotara, Charlestown, Cardiff, Glendale, Warners Bay, Toronto, Belmont and Swansea. If you live just outside those areas, ring and ask. Sometimes we can, and any travel is talked through before anything starts.

How quickly can support start?

We reply within 2 business days, and a free meet-and-greet is usually within a week. First shifts usually start 2 to 3 weeks after you first get in touch. The capacity table on our Referrals page shows where we have room right now and when it was last checked.

How much does NDIS support cost with Glenrock?

Our prices follow the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27 and never go above the price limits. You get a written quote and a service agreement before anything starts, so you know exactly what each shift costs and how it is claimed from your plan.

Can I choose my own support worker?

Yes. You meet support workers before anything is signed and say who you feel comfortable with. We keep a small team of the same 2 to 3 people with you wherever we can, and you can ask for a change at any time without giving a reason.

What if I'm not happy with the support?

Tell your support worker, a team leader or the office, and we'll sort it out with you. You can also contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on 1800 035 544. Nobody is treated differently for raising a concern, and you can change providers at any time, with the notice your service agreement sets.
