About Glenrock Support, disability services in Newcastle
A small, registered NDIS provider in Wallsend. We started in 2016 with two support workers and a car, and we've grown slowly on purpose, so the people we support still know everyone who walks through their door.

Who we are
Glenrock Support provides disability services across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie: help at home with daily life and housework, support to get out into the community, and small groups for building skills and confidence. We work with adults 18 and over.
There are about twenty of us now: support workers, two team leaders and a small office in Wallsend that takes visits by appointment. Most of our support workers live in the suburbs they work in. That matters more than it sounds. Someone who catches the same buses and shops at the same centre knows which stop has the ramp and which cafe is quiet before 10.
We stay small on purpose. Every person we support has a team leader who knows them by name and a short list of support workers who know their routine. When someone rings the office, a person answers.
Sample story. Glenrock Support is a fictional business.
How we choose support workers
A current NDIS Worker Screening Check for every support worker, before their first shift.
First aid and CPR, kept current.
An induction on the NDIS Code of Conduct, privacy, and how to support someone's own choices rather than make them.
Shadow shifts with an experienced support worker before working alone with anyone new.
Training for a particular person's needs, agreed with them, before that support starts.
We match people on more than availability. Shared interests, language, the pace someone likes and who they get on with all count, and the person being supported has the final say.

Registration means we've been audited against the NDIS Practice Standards. Registered or not, every NDIS provider must follow the NDIS Code of Conduct, and you can check any provider's registration on the Commission's Provider Register. Our blog explains the difference between registered and unregistered providers.
About the photos on this site
On a real provider's site, every photo of a person is their own team and the people they support, taken with written consent that can be withdrawn at any time. On this demo, the photos are from a stock library, and nobody pictured is a participant.
What we hold ourselves to
Four plain promises about how we work. None of them is about results we can't control; all of them are things you can hold us to.
Your choice, every time
You decide what support you get, when, and from whom. We ask before we act, and we don't make choices for you.
Straight answers
If we can't staff a shift, can't cover your suburb or don't offer a support, we say so on the first call and point you somewhere that can.
The same faces
A small, steady team who know your routine. No stream of strangers, and a new worker is always introduced first.
Fair and in writing
Prices under the NDIS Pricing Schedule, never above the limits, written down before anything starts.
Who you'll deal with
Three roles, and you'll know each by name once you start with us.
Your team leader
Comes to the meet-and-greet, writes the service agreement with you, matches your support workers and checks in after the first week. Your first call for anything that needs changing.
Your support workers
Two or three people who share the shifts, so there's always someone who knows you. Screened, first-aid trained and inducted on the NDIS Code of Conduct.
The office
Answers the phone, Monday to Friday. Handles rosters, invoices and your questions about either, and makes sure your coordinator hears back when you've asked us to keep them updated.
Everyone is welcome
We support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from every culture and language, and LGBTIQA+ people and families. If you'd like a support worker who shares your language, your culture or your gender, tell us and we'll match where we can. If we can't, we'll say so.
Need an interpreter? TIS National (131 450) can join any call or visit, at no cost to you.
Work with us
We hire disability support workers who live in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. See careers at Glenrock for what we ask for and how to apply.
Glenrock Support works on the lands of the Awabakal, Worimi and Wonnarua peoples. We acknowledge them as the Traditional Custodians, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
Talk to a person about support
